good things....

Paul and I were on our trip to New Mexico. We were listening to our music being quite.... listening to the music.... and then out of the quite I hear the "oh... shit... I think we are out of gas".... How could we be out of gas? We are both in the car and I didn't hear the bell ring? But regardless, we were out of gas. I think ... what do you do when you run out of gas in the middle of nowhere? And then Paul says... "jump out of the car and flag down that officer behind us".... so I do.. with a little hesitation and embaressment. Officer Tony (from Lubbock) gives us a ride to get gas... with no hesitation or embaressment... he doesen't tease us at all .... in fact he tells us it happns all the time???!!!!! Within 45 minutes we are on the road..... and I think... good things always happen to me.

Fast forward two weeks. I am trying to leave Church with the kids. I put the key in, and turn it... nothing. Logan says... Mom, is our car dead? and I said... well ... it is sleeping. A very nice man, name Fred, jumps it for us and before we know it we are running... and Logan said.... " Mom, everything always works out perftly for us" and all I could say was.... "yes, that is right"

Everything always does work out perfectly and I am so grateful that it does. I must admit that I used to question it, but now I tend to just laugh and quesiton, how is this going to turn into a blessing? It always does!

I am grateful~ I don't know what else to say!! Well, except Thank You!!!!

Lily's room...

Well, in my last post I mentioned Feng Shui-ing the heck out of Lily's room..... well I did :-)!!

Her bedroom falls in the Children/Creativity area of our home. Which makes it a metal area and we didn't want to go too metal since she is a wood child, so we decided for balance! The colors for this area are the pastel spectrum of colors so here is what we did.

We painted two of the walls a blue (her favorite color) which may be a little earthy, but earth creates metal. On the wall that we left white, I painted dots (circles=metal) the colors that are in her comforter. We added striped drapes (vertical stripes = wood). We painted the wall that falls in the journey area of her room black and made it a chalk board. (black=water) This will encourage her to notice all of the possibilities surrounding her. And I put a "Lily's get to do list" at the top of the chalk board wall and listed the things that she gets to do...

such as:

  1. Be happy

  2. See the beauty in everything

  3. Love yourself and others

  4. Have fun and feel good

That is all that she needs to do and I wanted her to remember what was important!

To represent the fire element I bought her a picture of this big beautiful flower (fire) which has a frog on it. (she loves frogs!) So I represented all of the elements but left a lot of metal. I love the idea of the chalk board because it encourages her to be playful and creative, and the room itself inspired quite a bit of creativity from me!

Well, after a few weeks of living in the new room I took Lily in for her check-up... and held my breath! Amazingly everything came back perfect!! We will continue to check on her, but with all we are doing we are expecting nothing but perfect health. That feels better!
